Durable! We use the Mikado right on the stove to boil water for tea all the time. In 2010, my family went to the shore for a week. When we came back, someone had forgotten to turn the gas off under the Mikado = one whole week of no water, just flame under the teapot! Needless to say we were lucky, lucky lucky. But, can you believe the durability?

There are many reasons why this teapot is so wonderful. First off it is very beautiful and simple in design. I love how it is all clear glass so you can see your tea as it steeps. You can also easily see how much tea you have left without having to take the lid off and peer inside. The glass is also very durable and of high quality. I have accidentally banged it against the sink a few times while cleaning it and because it is such high quality glass, it hasn't cracked, scratched or broken. This is an excellent all-around tea pot.

I tried this for the first time over Christmas, and got online that evening to order one for myself. The taste of the tea, when brewed in glass, is extraordinary!
