Product Description

Look for the abundance of golden tips in this tasty India Black. The malty, straightforward flavor will remind you why Assam can be used as the base for great blends.

Insider Tip: Try Assam in the morning for a brisk pick-me-up and add a dash of milk or honey to sweeten the taste. If you like Assam, try Assam Khongea Golden Bud!

Caffeine Level: Medium/High

Learn More:

Assam borders Bangladesh and Myanmar and lies in the northeastern tip of India, just south of China. Due to the high precipitation and tropical climate, growers in Assam enjoy a long production season, making it the second largest commercial tea producing region in the world (next to China). Tea in Assam is grown in low altitudes and is known for its strong, malty flavor. Second flush (picking) Assams have more golden tips, giving it a sweeter flavor, and are more prized than first flush Assams.

Ingredients: Black tea from India.

Recently visited the store while on vacation. Enjoyed this selection twice and have decided it is my NEW favorite. Added sugar which was a MUST due to a sweet tooth where tea is concerned (OK - where everything is concerned) - LOL! Great selection and highly recommended. BTW - staff is awesome...stop in sometime!

I got this tea in a sampler. It is one of my favorites. A half tsp of sugar eliminates a very slight bitterness for me. With the sugar, it is excellent!
Great flavor and smell!

I have tried several black teas at Tea Smith over the last 3-4 years. I have had a lot of good ones such as the Golden Monkey and the Ceylon Star. I just got this one the other day and it is great. Nice aroma, very fresh and crisp flavor. My favorite black tea!
