Product Description

Caffeine Level: Low.

Learn More:

White tea was originally only grown in China, but is now grown in India and elsewhere. Named to reference the tiny white hairs on the new buds and leaves, there are two main styles of white tea – Bai Mu Dan (White Peony) and Bai Hao Yin Zhen (Silver Needle). Silver needle teas are comprised of the closed buds only and it can take more than 10,000 buds to produce a kilo of tea. All handpicked, the rarity, intense labor, and skill required to produce this fine tea makes it highly-prized and more expensive than Bai Mu Dan.

White teas are produced by withering and drying, allowing minimal oxidation (black teas are fully oxidized). While often thought to be low in caffeine, the caffeine content of white teas greatly depends on the growing conditions and the varietal. However, lower steeping temperatures and times generally yield lower caffeine than black or green teas.

White tea is best enjoyed alone to appreciate its delicate flavor. Save the milk and sugar for black teas!

Ingredients: Organic white tea from China.

I was visiting family in Omaha a couple months ago and happened by the shop and ended up making some purchases. This is one of my favorites, it has a little more flavor than silver needles, buttery, a hint of melon. It has a lovely aroma and is light and refreshing, I love it.

I am a Heart patient and have only two veins working in my heart and I have been fighting Plaque build up in my veins for quite a while. The "White Peony" is by far the best thing I could have done for my heart. It has really lowered my Cholestral dramatically, the Dr. can't believe it! I have done a lot of research and found it to be true that "white Tea" has , by far, the most anti oxidents than anything including Red Wine. The White Peony has a very unique and flowery taste to it, but not too much. I drink it plain so as not to take away from its fantastic flavor. I will continue to brew Fresh White Peony Tea and go on enjoying life !

If you are a seasoned tea drinker or new, you will find White Peony to be very satisfying. I rarely add anything to my tea, and you will want to avoid doing that with this leaf as it has a very calming and delicate buttery flavor that stays with you. Great tea! I hope to see it stay around for awhile.
