Product Description

While dry rooibos has a raisiny/tobaccoy aroma, it has a characteristic smoothness in the cup. A touch of sweetness makes this a wonderful daily infusion.

Insider Tip: We always recommend using a brew basket for rooibos, as it catches all the fine leaves, preventing any tea particles falling into the tea.

Steeping Time: 5 minutes.

Steeping Temperature: 208 degrees.

Caffeine Level: None.

Learn More:

Rooibos, or 'red bush tea', is made from the Aspalathus linearis bush, native to South Africa. The needle-like leaves are smooth and shiny, yielding a distinctive flavor with notes of earthy vanilla and tobacco. The health benefits of rooibos are believed to rival or surpass those found in green tea. Rooibos is high in antioxidants and polyphenols, making it useful as a soothing anti-inflammatory and anti-spasmodic, perfect for consuming if you have a cold or sore throat. Many studies have been conducted on the benefits of rooibos recently; do some research and discover for yourself!

Ingredients: Organic rooibos from South Africa.

Organic Rooibos is a full-bodied, flavorful tea that stands up to lemon or milk & honey. The delivery was swift and the packing was appropriate. All in all, an excellent experience.

This is my favorite herbal tea. The aroma takes me immediately back to being on safari. It is also good iced...but, I prefer it hot....even good with a touch of milk and sweetener. Purchase this tea loose from The Tea Smith and skip any brand of pre-bagged you find in the grocery stores. PS...also great for anti-oxidants.

I love the rooibos because it is not a traditional herbal tea. It has a more robust flavor than most herbals, so you don't even feel like you are drinking uncaffeinated tea. Al Smith, Chicago, IL
