As a part of our 20th Anniversary Series, we wanted to pay homage to the day we originally opened back in December of 2004. Our very first customer asked if we had the distinct and smokey tea Lapsang Souchong. We did, and we still do, delighting and deterring many a nose since then over the course of 20 years! While not all love Lapsang Souchong, we felt it important to go back to our roots in creating blends to celebrate our journey over the course of 20 years. What better way than to create a twist on a Caravan Tea, that features a smokey quality reminiscent of camping and travelling the historic journey through the land trade routes across Asia. Our blend is not a traditional crafting of a Russian Caravan tea in that we used teas not only from China, as The Tea Smith's journey has spanned many countries! We have crafted this black tea blend to bring out the dark chocolatey notes in the original Lapsang Souchong with black teas rich in golden buds to evoke a natural sweet, malty, and rich quality in this lively and warming blend.
